Alpine Roots are large root plants and a food source for SnowHorns in Star Fox Adventures. They grow from the ground in SnowHorn Wastes and DarkIce Mines, but the SnowHorns cannot dig them out by themselves. However, Tricky can dig them out via the Find Command.

Appearance

Alpine Roots are large, beetroot-shaped yellow plants with dark, horizontal stripes running along their surface. They grow two leaves above ground which reveals their location.

History

In SnowHorn Wastes, Fox must feed an Alpine Root to a SnowHorn to get its attention, as it is too hungry to communicate to strangers.

In DarkIce Mines, Fox has to find two Alpine Roots for an injured SnowHorn after saving him from two SharpClaws. After feeding him the Alpine Roots, the SnowHorn allows Fox to ride on him.
