Area 6 is a large space station that orbits Venom. It is the location of a major conflict during the Lylat Wars in Star Fox 64.

Overview

Area 6 is the location of the most convenient atmospheric re-entry point in striking distance of Andross' home base. For this reason Area 6 is the most heavily defended region of space in orbit of Venom. The area was protected by at least thirty-one Umbra-class Defense Stations, seven Harlock-class Frigates, twelve Zeram-class Cruisers, two minefields, swarms of fighters, five Ninjin Missiles, and the Gorgon battle station.

In the closing moments of the Lylat Wars, the Star Fox team made a brazen attempt to force their way through Area 6 to attack Venom. Despite throwing everything at the Star Fox team, Venomian forces were unable to stop them. Throughout this mission, Fox and his team summon the Star Fox mothership, the Great Fox, to help fight the Venomian ships. In a last bid to stop Star Fox they deployed the Gorgon, hoping it would destroy them for good. Fox and his team managed to destroy the Gorgon and procede to Venom.
