Zoness was once the lush, beautiful, luxurious vacation spot of the Lylat system. But thanks to Andross experiments, and his pollution from Sarumarine, the world was turned into a toxic dump, mutated the once majestic sea life of the planet into hideous mutant creatures. Even the planet's food ended up becoming savage enemies thanks to Andross's mutative polluting. The sea of Zoness itself became covered in platforms and massive, corroded tanker ships, and is a sickly green.
Zoness is one of two oceanic worlds of the Lylat System, the other being Aquas. A former vacation world, it was occupied by Andross during the Lylat Wars.

Andross has facilities on the planet as well as numerous spotlights to prevent any sneak attack against him. The Star Fox team, however, was able execute a successful sneak attack on the planet by destroying all the searchlights.

Zoness is one of two oceanic worlds of the Lylat System, the other being Aquas. A former vacation world, it was occupied by Andross during the Lylat Wars.

Overview

Nearly covered with ocean, small groups of islands are the only ground that breaks above the crashing waves of Zoness. Zoness is home to a wide array of aquatic animals, including the dragon-like Todora, Troika fish, and Z-Gulls. A favored dish of many seaside restaurants were Kani.

History

Before the War, Zoness was the premier holiday planet for anyone who could afford it. However, the planet was conquered by the Venomian Army and was turned from paradise to hell. Toxic dumping turned the ocean into a sickly-green color and mutated the native life forms tremendously. Andross began constructed on new supply depots and refinery stations when the Star Fox Team attacked.

Rather then taking its defenses head-on, the team attempted to sneak in quietly. A series of radar buoys protected the main supply areas, scanning the heavens with powerful floodlamps, and formed an extensive early warning network. The team was able to destroy the bouys, with some surprise assistence from Katt Monroe, before they could alert the system and proceeded to lay waste to the infrastructure.

In the final moments of the attack, Fox McCloud confronted Sarumarine, the source of the planet-wide pollution. In a hard-fought battle Fox destroyed the poisonous submarine and put an end to the origin of the toxic waste.
