The Nintendo 3DS is a portable video game console developed and distributed by Nintendo. Nintendo 3DS is regarded as the true technological successor to the Nintendo DS portable system. The system's most notable feature is that the top of its dual-screen layout can display video game graphics in stereoscopic three-dimensional visualization, without the need for any special glasses - a process known as autostereoscopy.

The console had been released on February 26, 2011 in Japan, March 25, 2011 in Europe, March 27, 2011 in North America, and March 31, 2011 in Australia.

Only a single Star Fox game was released for the Nintendo 3DS. Fox and Falco also appeared in a fighting game.

The Nintendo 3DS is also backward compatible with original DS cartridges, which means that Star Fox Command is playable on the 3DS.
