Image sources

For image sourcing, what seems to be missing for you on these pages: Help:Image Sourcing & LW:IS? [Tacopill|(talk)] 09:12, 27 October 2010 (PDT).

Well, it tells me why it is important, but not how it should be done. I had the links, but I didn't know where they go. --SnorlaxMonster 15:33, 27 October 2010 (PDT)
Ah, very well. What we need is the url you got it from, along with any other related information (date, time, author, etc). If possible, place it within the template a source template, like this page File:Leon PowalskiAssault.png. [Tacopill|(talk)] 15:49, 27 October 2010 (PDT).

Thank you

Thank you for creating the template, {{PL:few}}. [Tacopill|(talk)] 06:26, 24 April 2011 (PDT).

When you get a chance

Hey, when you get a chance, can you please look at this discussion and feel free to join in on it as well. [Tacopill|(talk)] 12:36, 15 May 2011 (PDT).

promotion

Hey, I've promoted you to Ambassador, as you are a staff member on another wiki... so, congrats. :). Here are your new rights, if you aren't familar with them:

  • Edit semi-protected pages (not that we have any)
  • Edit the user interface
  • Have one's own edits automatically marked as patrolled (woo!)

so... congrats! and keep up the good work. [Tacopill|(talk)] 19:08, 19 March 2012 (PDT).

Thanks for that. I probably won't use it much though. What exactly does "Edit the user interface" do? When I log out and try to edit a page in the MediaWiki namespace, it says "The action you have requested is limited to users in one of the groups: Users, Administrators." So this would mean that all users could edit it. Also, Lylat Wiki has been running very slow lately. --SnorlaxMonster 06:54, 24 March 2012 (PDT)
That's odd... Editing the interface, means editing system pages i.e. MediaWiki namespace. But it seems you can't edit it. and with my regular computer out of commission. I won't be able to fix it from here.
I've also seen the wiki been slowing down... but not sure what to do about it. I guess I should contact the webhost's tech support... but am unsure if it should be me, as I am not paying the bills on this one. They may prefer to talk to Neo... but he's too busy to do it at the moment.
[Tacopill|(talk)] 09:31, 25 March 2012 (PDT)
No, you've misunderstood me. I can edit it, but by logging out it says that all users can edit it anyway. --SnorlaxMonster 06:13, 30 March 2012 (PDT)
Alright, I double checked editing a media wiki page under a test account, and this is what I get.
You do not have permission to edit this page, for the following reason:
This page provides interface text for the software, and is locked to prevent abuse.
You can view and copy the source of this page:
So, I am thinking it is a flaw in the programming and/or our configuation of it.
[Tacopill|(talk)] 08:08, 7 April 2012 (PDT)
So I guess it is restricted to that userright, but it gives the wrong groups as being able to edit it. Pretty minor I guess, but still annoying. --SnorlaxMonster 08:07, 10 April 2012 (PDT)
Alright... I have started modifying the old LocalSettings.php file... but I don't have up to date FTP info. I have created an ftp account with the host, but it won't let me get to the files.
I also submitted a ticket telling that the site is running slowly.
[Tacopill|(talk)] 18:43, 11 April 2012 (PDT)
Yeah, Lylat Wiki is really slow. --SnorlaxMonster 23:56, 11 April 2012 (PDT)
Ok, so. According to tech support... it isn't the server. They recommended checking out Performance_tuning, but I don't know if I can do any of it from here. [Tacopill|(talk)] 18:05, 13 April 2012 (PDT).

Dear Staff member

Dear SnorlaxMonster,

We are currently reaching out to all of the Admins, 'crats, and other staff members to see who is still around. Please respond to this if you still wish to be part of the staff. If you no longer do wish it, then we thank you for your time and will remove you from your respective group(s). If you don't respond at all, then we will assume you are no longer interested, and will remove you anyway.

Thank you for your time, tacopill
