Star Fox News

  • June 20, 2011 - Confirmation! Star Fox 64 3D will be released in Europe on September 9, 2011! That is two days before North America, apparently. Looks like Nintendo are now going into a big habit of publishing games in Europe slightly before North America. Unfortunately, there is no real confirmation whether the game will retain the original title, or replace it with Lylat Wars like during the Nintendo 64 days (although, at the time, they were sort of forced to, but they now have no real reason to do so), but it seems the former case is more likely.
  • June 7, 2011 - Nintendo's E3 2011 press conference had come and gone, and they officially announced the successor to the Wii console - Wii U. In addition to confirming the console's touch-screen controller, the Wii U boasts amazing HD visuals Nintendo fans had longed to see. In part of Star Fox news, nothing new had been announced, contrary to our great anticipation. However, Nintendo releases brand new footage for Star Fox 64 3D, which reveals that the game uses the same lines from the original, but with new voices for every character. Nintendo also roughly states that the game is confirmed for a U.S. release around September 2011. June 8 Update: Apparently, the game is now set to be specifically released in the U.S. on September 11, 2011. Strangely enough, just in time for the 10th Memorial of the September 11 terrorist attacks.

Star Fox News

  • May 12, 2011 - Breaking News! This has been feared for a while, but now it is official. Star Fox 64 3D shall not, I repeat, shall NOT support online multiplayer features whatsoever. Like the original, the game will have a multiplayer mode all right, but unfortunately despite the Nintendo 3DS' advancement in online-capablities, you can only play this game against other players locally. The game still features Download Play, where people can play against anyone even if they do not own the game, similary to Star Fox Command. Additionally, players can take pictures of themselves for creating personal icons when pitting against other. Furthermore, the game includes two single modes: The 3DS mode, and a classic mode. In the former, you can use the gyroscope features to control the game, whilst the latter can be controlled the old-fashioned way, of course. Source
  • April 25, 2011 - Amongst all the hustle and bustle of on-going rumors about Nintendo's next console, dubbed Project Café, the mother company in Japan had confirmed that they will unveil their next console during the coming E3 2011 event, and it will also be playable. In other news, Shigeru Miyamoto was in a press event in France lately, and he revealled some new details about Star Fox 64 3D: In addition to the fact that the game's development had long been completed, the game will apparently take advantage of the Nintendo 3DS' gyroscope capability, apparently giving "a new dimension to the game."
  • April 14, 2011 - This just in! Nintendo Co., Ltd. (as in Nintendo in Japan) had launched their official website for Star Fox 64 3D, unveiling the game's final logo and Japanese release date - July 14, 2011! At this rate, a localized release of Star Fox 64 3D would not be far off from that date. There is not much to the page at the moment, but take a look and you shall be immersed into a very familiar introduction sequence.
  • March 27, 2011 - The Nintendo 3DS has been officially launched in North America today. Australians should be expecting their own launch day in the last day of March, and by then Nintendo would be done with the distribution of its latest console in the key markets. For now, we are anticipating the coming of this year's Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) by mid-June, hopefully there should be a lot to look forward to, including release details for Star Fox 64 3D, and any other possible Star Fox games, most likely for the Wii.
  • March 25, 2011 - The Nintendo 3DS has been officially launched in Europe today. Nintendo's newest handheld system will also see its official North American release in the day after tomorrow. The system's only-announced Star Fox game - Star Fox 64 3D - has yet to have a determined release date anywhere. There has been hints, however, that some Star Fox-based components (such as Fox's ears and headset) can be used on 3DS Mii characters, and can be obtained via StreetPass Mii Plaza.
  • January 5, 2011 - Starfox-Online.net has reported on a Star Fox movie in the possible works. It should be noted that this is NOT an official confirmation, just a film proposal.
  • At Nintendo Conference 2010, many new details were unveiled about the Nintendo 3DS, including its Japanese release date and price. Additionally, four brand new screenshots were released for Star Fox 64 3D.
