Mechbeth was a biomechanical construct used in the defense of Macbeth during the Lylat Wars. Created by Andross, Mechbeth was an advanced combat system with a fatal flaw: its internal power generator was still in development at the outbreak of the war. For this reason, it had to rely on an outside source for power, teathered to an energy supply train.

Strategy

Unlike most bosses, Mechbeth can be beat 2 different ways. The first is to actually fight it. The boss itself can be stunned, but this is after Fox blasts off the outer armor. To stun it, blast the area where it drops its deadly boxes. This will disrupt the power and keep it from defending itself. This needs to be repeated until it is defeated. The second way is to switch the train's direction and make it crash into the barriers along the other train track. To do this, 8 switches need to be shot. The first four appear before the train releases this boss. Fortunately, to make this easier, the eighth switch is automatically hit by Falco, if he is present, and Katt Monroe will shoot the second and fifth switches if you had previously been to Zoness. After these are shot, you need to hit one final switch, and the train will be destroyed. Defeating the boss by crashing the train will give you the choice to go to Area 6. If you do not destroy the train, you will go to Bolse.
