Orbital Gate Assault is a stage that only appears in Super Smash Bros. for Wii U. Orbital Gate Assault is similar to Lylat Cruise in that it takes place in deep space. The stage is based on the Beltino Orbital Gate from Star Fox: Assault and appears to take place in a re-enactment of the stage. Orbital Gate Assault also featured its own hidden Star Fox Smash Taunt.
The stage is divided into sections: it first takes place aboard the Great Fox, and then takes the fighters around the Orbital Gate with the Arwings. As the stage moves around, the Arwings destroy the missiles on the gate, causing them to explode. Afterwards, the cycle repeats back on the Great Fox again.

- According to Masahiro Sakurai, the stage took about a whole year to developer.[1]
