Hajime Wakai (若井淑 Wakai Hajime) is one of the various composers of music in the Star Fox series. His first composition was for Star Fox 64 along with Kōji Kondō. Wakai also returned to compose the music for Star Fox Command.

In addition to music in the Star Fox series, Hajime Wakai has composed music for F-Zero X (along with Taro Bando), Pokémon Stadium (along with Kenta Nagata and Tōru Minegishi), Pokémon Stadium 2, Pikmin, The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker (along with Kenta Nagata, Tōru Minegishi, and Kōji Kondō), The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past & Four Swords (along with music already composed by Kōji Kondō), Pikmin 2, Nintendogs, New Super Mario Bros.
