* July 10, 2012 - UK-based video game retailer GAME recently used their small press prowess to have a Q&A with the one and only Dylan Cuthbert, original lead designer for Star Fox and Star Fox 2, and founder of Q-Games. In this Q&A, Cuthbert reveals a few notable points about his career, his relationship with Nintendo and in particular with Shigeru Miyamoto, and his work on Star Fox. In fact, whilst not giving any hints about the type of gameplay we could anticipate with a possible Wii U Star Fox game, citing that he prefers what Shigeru Miyamoto would decide to do with that part, Cuthbert expressed his desire to work on another Star Fox game in the future, and "expand it further." Whilst the Q&A does not reveal any promises, it it quite an interesting read when it comes to Cuthbert's experience in the industry. GAME posted the entire Q&A interview on their official Facebook page.

* July 7, 2012 - Whilst we did not get any hints of a new Star Fox game whatsoever at E3 2012, which was frankly widely considered by many media outlets as one of the worst received E3 events overall to begin with, major pop culture and entertainment press outlet IGN recently had an exclusive, short interview with the one and only Shigeru Miyamoto, speaking about seeing some familiar franchises for the upcoming Wii U console. Whilst Miyamoto did initially emphasize about the Wii U's unique GamePad controller having potential for a new Metroid game, he ended up saying that he would "personally" prefer to see a new Star Fox game for the Wii U. While this is not exactly an official announcement for anything relative, however quotes like this from one of the most notable executives at Nintendo would deem as valid hints towards expecting something at some point in the future.

* May 5, 2012 - Rumor: This bit of information has been circulating the internet for about a year now, but apparently a new source has re-ignited this old rumor. Gaming blog Techtroid had claimed they were tipped off that Nintendo's American first-party developer - Retro Studios - are prepped to reveal an upcoming Star Fox game for the Wii U at this year's E3. Retro Studios are the highly acclaimed developers behind the Metroid Prime trilogy and the game Donkey Kong Country Returns. It has long been confirmed that they had been working on a "secret game" for the Wii U, but no one really considered the likelihood of it being a brand new Star Fox title. Like all rumors, and as much as we love to hope, it should be taken with a pinch of salt. Interestingly, a few days before Nintendo's initial presentation at E3 2010, there were rumors that Retro Studios were working on a new Donkey Kong title. Initially, such a rumor was not received with enthusiasm as people believed it was too far-fetched considering numerous factors, but during E3 Nintendo does indeed unveil Donkey Kong Country Returns, courtesy of Retro Studios. Therefore, a rumor it may still be, we do not recommend dissing the idea of a Star Fox Wii U title from Retro Studios just yet. Source
Nintendo had recently confirmed that their initial presentation during E3 2012 will debut on June 5, starting at 9am Pacific Daylight Time (local time). Nintendo confirms they will unveil first party titles such as Pikmin 3 and a new Super Mario Bros. game for the Wii U. Nintendo also confirms they may not reveal the release date and price for the Wii U at E3, but rather at a later date.

* November 18, 2011 - Have you been using Google lately? Of course, it is very, very unlikely anyone browsing on the internet would not ever use the ever-popular Google search engine. Anyway, why am I asking you if you had been using Google? Well, recently Google implemented something that could be considered a tribute to the Star Fox series. A sort of Easter egg, if you will. I shall not say any more about it, but you can easily find out yourself. I highly suggest you use the Google Chrome browser for this process though, as it may not work on just any platform. Log on Google's main page, and type in Peppy Hare's famous words, "Do a barrel roll." You will then see what happens exactly.

* October 7, 2011 - Nintendo will be attending the New York Comic Con this year, and as usual in these events they are allowing the public to play a selection of highly anticipating games, including Star Fox 64 3D. It may not sound like a big deal since Star Fox 64 3D is already available in stores, but I am using this bit of news as a shameless plug so that people would acknowledge attending the convention anyway so that they try out the selection of many other yet-to-be-released games from Nintendo on all available consoles. Visitors to the convention might even get a surprise or two.
