Template:PersonInfoBox v2.0 Shigeru Miyamoto is a Japanese video game designer and producer. He is best known for his creations at Nintendo, such as the Mario, Zelda, and Star Fox series. He was born and raised in the Kyōto prefecture of Japan, and his experiences there during childhood inspired much of his work, especially the open and non-linear land of Hyrule in The Legend of Zelda. He is currently General Manager of Nintendo Entertainment Analysis and Development, which is in charge of the majority of Nintendo's major titles. He has been involved in the development of the majority of the Star Fox games released to date, mainly in the original and its Nintendo 64 remake.

Quotes

  • "Video games are bad for you? That's what they said about rock and roll."
  • "What if everything that you see, is more than what you see? The person next to you is a warrior and the space that appears empty is a door to another world? What if something appears that shouldn't? You either dismiss it or accept that there is more to the world than you think. Perhaps it is really a doorway, and if you choose to go inside, you'll find many unexpected things."
  • "I don't like all the attention. I think it's better to let my work do the talking."
  • "I don't know what Mario will look like next. Maybe he will wear metallic clothing with a red hat."
