Rolling is a technique present in Star Fox Adventures and Star Fox Assault. Its main purpose is to get the roller out of harm's way, but its continuous use is also slightly faster than walking. Normally, Fox (or Krystal) suffers two units of damage when caught on fire, but by Rolling, the damage can be reduced to one. Rolling can be executed by pressing the X-button while running and when not in combat.
In Star Fox Assault, rolling is a side-step to either the left or right. Different characters go at different lengths, Wolf's being the longest, Krystal's being the shortest. Unlike other given abilities, like jumping, side-stepping isn't rated with stars.
