Cornerian Cruiser

The Cornerian Assault Frigate is the backbone Cornerian Starfleet and Defense Force. These frigate are fast and powerful, nearly rivaling the speed of a heavy assault fighter or bomber. Along with the Pleides Class Heavy Cruiser, the Assault Frigate is fairly new, only predating the Lylat Wars by a few months. Now its the mainstray ship of the fleet. Its heavily armed for a ship of its class. Its eight power foward Hvy laser cannons make short work of distant warships, while its complement of twelve light laser cannons protect it from enemy starfighters. These light warships do have its drawbacks though. It lacks heavy armor, but its speed makes up for it. Its other drawback is that these ships are rather expensive for its class, due to its highly advanced targeting, sensors, engines and several other onboard componets. However these new systems will keep this class from becoming obsolete for decades.

This class of ship was the backbone of the Cornerian space forces during the Aparoid invasion. These ships formed the fleet at the battle of Fortuna against Oikonny's rebellion and accompanied the great fox on the attack on the Aparoid homeworld.
