* <b>June 16, 2015</b> - At the Nintendo Direct Event @ E3 2015, Nintendo announced a new name and logo for the new game in development, [[Star Fox Zero]], complete with a demonstration of a couple levels played by the presenters, along with some questions with series creator [[Shigeru Miyamoto]]. Also announced was that [[Platinum Games]] was helping with development.  Storyline-wise, the video game is a complete reboot of the series, with [[Star Wolf]] but without [[Krystal]], an some [[Star Fox 2]] features, like the Arwing transforming into a mech-like vehicle, and a new flying machine, the [[Gyrowing]].

It has been confirmed that PlatinumGames are co-developing the title, alongside ''Bayonetta 2'' director Yusuke Hashimoto. The game is a neither a sequel, prequel, nor a remake, but rather a re-imagining of the early games in the series.
