Venom (Japanese: ベノム Benomu, Venom) is the name of a fictional planet from the Star Fox series. Venom is the first distant planet in the Lylat System, and apparently the most barren and desolate of all planets. Andross was exiled by General Pepper to Venom, as it was originally believed no foreign creature could survive on the planet's extremely dangerous surface. Venom is home to a tribe of anthropomorphic races of reptiles. Apparently, during his years of exile, Andross managed to use his intellect to turn the local, primitive citizens into using his technologies and doing his own bidding, thus he created an entire army out of Venom alone. Even after his apparent demise, Andross' army continued to thrive, constantly threatening Corneria, as well as the entire Lylat System, especially after Andrew Oikonny unconstitutionally inherited his uncle's army.

Venom was originally the base of all of Andross' operations during his exile, as well as the home of the late Core Brain. Venom appeared in every known Star Fox game to date, except for Star Fox Adventures and Star Fox: Assault, despite the fact many Venomians appeared in the latter.

As opposed to how other levels in Star Fox 64 and its remake only have minor changes depending on the previous level, such as Bill and Katt appearing in the level after their first appearance if they are encountered on Katina or Zoness, respectively, or Star Wolf defending Bolse if they are not taken out on Fichina, Venom is completely different depending on whether it comes after Bolse or Area 6. When coming from the former, the level is a standard on-rails Arwing level with multiple enemies to shoot and a temple guarded by Golemech followed by Fox heading through a narrow passage way containing items and leading to a fight with a robotic Andross decoy. However, when coming from the latter, the level begins with an All-Range Mode fight with Star Wolf, after which Fox goes through a short on-rails flight through a narrow passage that, unlike the other Venom, branches into paths going left or right with said paths generally containing items for use in the fight with the real Andross that starts immediately after going through this passage.

During Star Fox Command, Venom's sea is neutralized and the gang explores the sea to find it inhabited by the Anglar, a fish like race. This planet was also referred to as the quarantine planet do to past events.

In the Super Smash Bros. series

SmashWiki has an article on Venom.

Venom appears as a stage in Super Smash Bros. Melee. In this stage, the player fights atop the Great Fox's wings as it flies through Venom. Arwings and Wolfens fly in the background and can shoot the fighters, causing high damage and knockback. Falco Lombardi and his allies are fought here in All-Star Mode. The stage is set to reappear in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.
