Ambassador

Hey, man, I put you up as an ambassador since you're an admin from Strategy Wiki. You get autopatrol and the ability to edit the MediaWiki namespace with it (oh, and respect :3)

So...yeah. Thanks for helping me out, here. We're new so we don't have any real editors or staff.—Justin(Talk) 18:47, 9 August 2010 (PDT)

Oh right, that's cool. Don't know when I'll need to edit the MediaWiki pages, since it's the only namespace I've never edited before, but, you never know when it may be useful. :) I can only do some small things like cleaning up pages, but on a new wiki, I guess every little thing helps. :D Moydow 19:01, 9 August 2010 (PDT)
Yeah. I added that because admins usually know how to edit the Mediawiki namespace so I figured admins from other sites could help out like that. Anyways, I do appreciate even the smallest things.—Justin(Talk) 19:06, 9 August 2010 (PDT)
I just never needed to edit it, really. SW is pretty well run in that area. All of our bureaucrats have plenty of experience. One is an administrator on the MediaWiki site itself. Anyway, if this helps, your sig seems to be broken. It seems you didn't close the span tag in the link to your userpage, and that's now creating massive red links to your page. Moydow 19:21, 9 August 2010 (PDT)
Nope. It's red on purpose ;)—Justin(Talk) 19:27, 9 August 2010 (PDT)
Oh, it's a conspiracy to dominate talk pages with links to your page, eh? (I never said that...) :P Anyway, I did actually find a MediaWiki page that needed editing: MediaWiki:Portal-url. It seems almost every wiki creates the Community Portal with a capital P, then nobody changes that page, leaving a broken link in the sidebar. Moydow 19:33, 9 August 2010 (PDT)
Well, being you can replace the side bar text with a direct link to Lylat Wiki:Community Portal, i'm not sure anyone thought it was needed....nor did i remember to do what i just recommended. Also, i didn't no that system page existed, so :P. [Tacopill|(talk)] 06:49, 10 August 2010 (PDT).

Cool! i just created the home page for the wikiproject. Please tell me what you think. [Tacopill|(talk)] 10:27, 10 August 2010 (PDT).
Yeah, looks alright. You may also want to provide a link to Special:WantedTemplates, urging members to help create as many of these as possible, as some of them may be important. I see Template:Navbox has 370-odd links to it. Moydow 11:41, 10 August 2010 (PDT)
Thank you for the suggestion. I've placed that, along with some other tasks under Lylat_Wiki:Templates#Tasks. What do you thing? [Tacopill|(talk)] 12:46, 10 August 2010 (PDT).
And i'm not sure what to do about Navbox.... 12:47, 10 August 2010 (PDT)
I made a small edit slightly clarifying the Tasks section. Navbox is generally a group of templates, as opposed to one template, which would strain the server. For example, Navbox-Games would be a template with links to each game in the series, placed on each game page. Navbox-SF64, for another example, would be placed on pages related to Star Fox 64 (characters, enemies, aircraft, etc.), with links to each page. This is an example single-game navbox on WiKirby. Moydow 13:47, 10 August 2010 (PDT)
O, i know what a Navbox is; i just don't know what to do with the wanted template called "navbox", as Neo got rid of the one i borrowed from wikipedia in favor of "simpler templates". i just don't know what to if i should create a new one, replace it with an ordinary table (like i currently have at Template:Tl) or something entirely new. This is a solution i hope Template:LW:Templates can come up with. [Tacopill|(talk)] 13:56, 10 August 2010 (PDT).
I've taken the colors from Template:Tl and used them on Template:Tl. What do you think? [Tacopill|(talk)] 12:05, 11 August 2010 (PDT).
I think it works well. The lighter blue in the right area makes the darker blue in the rest of the template look less 'harsh' on the eyes. Hopefully soon when some of my other work clears up, I should be able to really get started here on the needed templates. Moydow 13:05, 11 August 2010 (PDT)
Thank you very much. I look forward to your schedule clearing up, as your help is muchly appriciated. ;D. [Tacopill|(talk)] 13:19, 11 August 2010 (PDT).

Thanks

For helping to revert the vandalism. I've temporarily locked the wiki from anonymous editing, and it's going to stay that way for a month since every IP address simply HAS to spam right now. Appreciate the help, of course!—Justin(Talk) 08:21, 28 August 2010 (PDT)

No problem. I figured that was all you could do, or you'd end up blocking every IP address anyway. I saw something similar happening on StrategyWiki not long after I joined, so I've seen it all before, and if it ever happens again there, I get the 'pleasure' of locking the site from anons. I'll join. Though I've been busy recently, I should have some free time this weekend. Moydow 08:42, 2 September 2010 (PDT)
Sweet, thank you very much. [Tacopill|(talk)] 09:04, 2 September 2010 (PDT).

two things!

Hey, got two things for you to check out

  1. what do think of the header template here.
  2. and what do you think of what i am proposing here. [Tacopill|(talk)] 10:20, 13 September 2010 (PDT).
  1. I've never seen anything like this before, outside of StrategyWiki, where it's used for a very different purpose. I'm not sure what to think of it on a regular wiki. Perhaps just try it out and see what the general opinion is.
  2. It's always a good idea to have an independent review of an article. On StrategyWiki, the system is to allow a guide's contributors decide its completion level (between levels 1 and 4). Featured guides (level 5) are voted on by the community, and it's often the only point where a guide gets a good thorough review by others. So I'd be favourable to the system you propose. A good idea is to get reviews from increasingly external sources as a page gets closer to featured status. If you'd like, I could help with some of the reviewing, as most of what I do focuses on reviewing edits for quality, and generally keeping pages in order.
Moydow 13:42, 13 September 2010 (PDT)
  1. the idea behind the box is to imitate, but not duplicate, the header seen on wikipedia discussion pages. And thank you, i will continue to try it out.
  2. I would strongly appreciate your help in reviewing articles. Do you understand the rules as they stand, and if so, which level do you think you would be best at? [Tacopill|(talk)] 14:08, 13 September 2010 (PDT).
  1. Never saw those before.
  2. The rules make sense to me. According to those, I qualify as a "good-level" reviewer. This said, my knowledge of the Star Fox games is minimal, so I probably should stick to lower levels for now. Moydow 14:27, 13 September 2010 (PDT)
  1. Ah well, thank you anyway.
  2. Would you be interested in being a decent-level reviewer or a stub-level one? [Tacopill|(talk)] 16:33, 13 September 2010 (PDT).
I think I'll try decent-level. Moydow 16:41, 13 September 2010 (PDT)
Sounds good. When some has a start-level article ready for review, i will notify you. On a side note, my current plan is to have at least 7 decent-level articles by the end of December, which doesn't include any articles that were decent, but has since been promoted or demoted. Before this can happen, i need first to get some articles to stub-level standards. Thank you again for agreeing to do this. [Tacopill|(talk)] 17:11, 13 September 2010 (PDT).

It's coming

Just so you are aware, i plan on asking for a review of an article with in the next week. So be ready :D . [Tacopill|(talk)] 22:35, 5 October 2010 (PDT).

Good to hear you've got some articles on the up. Unfortunately, I won't be around next week, between the 11th and 14th. If you can wait until the 15th or later, though, I'll gladly look at it. Thanks for the heads-up. Moydow 08:39, 6 October 2010 (PDT)
Yeah, i'm cool with waiting till then. And your welcome. [Tacopill|(talk)] 09:10, 6 October 2010 (PDT).

Andross

Hey, Moydow, I was wondering if we could raise Andross to Decent level. It seems pretty Decent to me. Foxdude54 12:30 October 15 2010

I'll take a look and come back to you on it later. Thanks for letting me know! Moydow 10:04, 15 October 2010 (PDT)
OK, see here for what I think of it. Good work! Moydow 10:23, 15 October 2010 (PDT)
