Hey, what do you think?

Hey, i made some changes to the character templates at Template:Tl. Do you mind looking at it, and telling me what you think before i implement it? [Tacopill|(talk)] 08:47, 10 August 2010 (PDT).

It looks good, the problems I see are the red links which, of course should go away after the pages are created. And the visited links. Yellow on blue doesn't work so well. So a color other than yellow/gold for visited links should work. Malake256 16:34, 10 August 2010 (PDT)
Alright, how about white? i'm not sure what i should do to distinguish between new and existing links.....got any suggestions? [Tacopill|(talk)] 20:20, 10 August 2010 (PDT).
Well it all depends on whether you guys are gunna get a colorful skin like Metroid Wiki or a plain skin like the one you have now or wikipedia. If you're keeping this, I think it'd just make more sense to keep it at blue for existing, red for non existing. Malake256 13:43, 11 August 2010 (PDT)
Someone Neo knows is working on a skin, although i haven't seen much of it yet. When it is done, i will need check how each color scheme works with the skin. Till then, i can have all the mix-and-match color fun i want! *evil laugh*. [Tacopill|(talk)] 16:08, 11 August 2010 (PDT).
Steve I presume. Well, enjoy (: I'm doing pretty much the same thing in Metroid Wiki's game colors and suchhh Malake256 17:38, 11 August 2010 (PDT)
Yeap. Sounds good. Have any links to show? [Tacopill|(talk)] 17:40, 11 August 2010 (PDT).
Not really, lol. See, i tried using really colorful tables to represent certain objects in Metroid. Actually, look here, I tried really hard to get that template to have Varia Suit colors (red/yellow/orange) but it just wouldn't come out well, it was too bright. Malake256 15:32, 12 August 2010 (PDT)
Hmmm Looks like it still has a slight problem with the "characters" link at the top, it blends in with the background. Purple or green would probably work. Otherwise everything is easy to read, well formatted, stylish, etc. PureLocke(User/Talk) 16:54, 12 August 2010 (PDT)
To Malake256: Thant's too bad. Orange is my favorite color; what you had would of worked well for someone like me.
To PureLock: How about the green i have on it now?
[Tacopill|(talk)] 20:28, 12 August 2010 (PDT).
Orange would work too for a greater contrast, I was thinking of colors on the same side of the color wheel so they blend well. looks nice though taco. PureLocke(User/Talk) 23:05, 12 August 2010 (PDT)
Orange it is then! [Tacopill|(talk)] 13:48, 13 August 2010 (PDT).
Please check out a related post on my talk page: User_talk:Tacopill#Good_News.21
I liked it, but too many people thought it just stood out too much on Metroid Wiki's purple. Like everything is purple, then outta nowhere some orange thing pops out at you. Malake256 21:40, 16 August 2010 (PDT)
But that's what makes it exciting..... [Tacopill|(talk)] 21:41, 16 August 2010 (PDT).
Haha, I KNOW RIGHT!! haha, I really liked the orange, but most people didn't. And it's best to appeal to popular demand. Here on Lylat though, most templates have different color schemes, so it wouldn't bee bad like on MW. Malake256 21:46, 16 August 2010 (PDT)
Yes, alternating color schemes rock! [Tacopill|(talk)] 22:28, 16 August 2010 (PDT).

Question

If you don't mind me asking, what program do you use to create the transparency with the images? I was hoping to improve some images, but I don't know what program you use. I have MS Paint, which I'm sure it isn't, and Picasa, but I haven't seen it in either. Thanks for listening.--TW 20:17, 8 October 2010 (PDT)

GIMP mah boy :D It's the best free image editing software in mine and many opinions. There's $50 photoshop which people enjoy downloading illegally lol. But I stick to GIMP. If you youtube GIMP transparency or something I'm sure you'll get a tutorial for it. Malake256 20:45, 8 October 2010 (PDT)
Thanks for the help. Usually I can't download anything onto this computer, but didn't take up much memory, so I did anyway. Thanks again.--TW 05:03, 9 October 2010 (PDT)
No prob, if you need help using it, just ask, here or on the lylat skype chat. Malake256 06:56, 9 October 2010 (PDT)
