Copied from another wiki?

Hey guys, was the information on this page copied from another wiki? if so, is it bad enough that we need to tag it with: Template:Tl. [Tacopill|(talk)] 19:46, 13 August 2010 (PDT).

I checked Arwingpedia and Wikipedia, wasn't there a "Lylat wars" wiki as well? PureLocke(User/Talk) 02:38, 14 August 2010 (PDT)
If there was, i am not aware of it. Our current list of other wikis, as far as i know, is at Template:Tl. [Tacopill|(talk)] 07:34, 14 August 2010 (PDT).
Hello, I apologize for posting in an old section. This article does shares text with this Wiki, at least in the "appearance" section. Most of it is even word-for-word. (Wolf O'Donnell 22:33, 11 March 2011 (PST))
Thank you. Please remove the content, or if you are up to it, modify it enough that it is no longer a copy. [Tacopill|(talk)] 15:44, 12 March 2011 (PST).
Ah, removing it seems sort of trivial. I'll rewrite it. (Wolf O'Donnell 20:35, 12 March 2011 (PST))
Sounds good. [Tacopill|(talk)] 21:00, 12 March 2011 (PST).

Appearance Section

I hate appearance sections for two reasons:

  1. We have an image of the character/object/item/etc. (or usually will have one at some point)
  2. It's basically filler info

Can we please nix this section in favor of actual information about the character's history and personality and such? Figgered I should post before doing it, though.—Justin(Talk) 18:24, 17 August 2010 (PDT)

Sounds Reasonable.....and thank you for asking. Although it will be kind of hard, accessibility-wise; as some users may not be able to see the picture. Anyway, Appearance is there, because...... it's something i usually find on Character pages on fiction-centered wikis...so, i figured it would work well here. But, as i said. Sounds reasonable. Which Smash Bros. is Wolf in?

Which Smash Bros. Games did Wolf appear in? I remember a cameo in Melee, and being a fight-able character in Brawl. [Tacopill|(talk)] 14:48, 5 December 2010 (PST).

I'm not sure if this was answered already... To my knowledge, he is not even referenced to in Super Smash Bros. In Melee, he is mentioned in the Wolfen Trophy, and makes a cameo in the opening movie. In Brawl, he is playable... (but you knew the last two facts already.) (Wolf O'Donnell 22:24, 11 March 2011 (PST))
Yea, that's in reference to an edit where people removed or changed the facts on the page. Are they currently there? [Tacopill|(talk)] 16:26, 12 March 2011 (PST).
I will check... (Wolf O'Donnell 20:35, 12 March 2011 (PST))
Thank you very much. [Tacopill|(talk)] 21:00, 12 March 2011 (PST).
I've written the section, but I haven't posted it. I kind of wanted you to review it first, if you don't mind? [EDIT: Wrong section of talk page, I apologize.](Wolf O'Donnell 21:16, 12 March 2011 (PST))
Not a problem on either things. Just paste it here, between the <pre> and tags.

Wolf has gray and white fur that is clipped very close to his head in a buzz cut fashion. Wolf has pointed gray ears with white furs that ascend above his head. Wolf has purple colored eyes, and usually glaring white eyebrows. Wolf is also of tall height, being taller than most characters. Under his white muzzle is his sharp white teeth. Wolf also has sharp claws, of which Leon commented on. Wolf has a short white beard on his chin and a rough gray tail which has a split at the tip. Wolf has gray and white body fur, with white fur on his chest. Wolf has a very muscular build, this, coupled with his size, makes him one strongest character in the series. In ''[[Star Fox 64]]'', he speaks with a voice reminiscent of a British aristocrat. In ''[[Star Fox: Assault]]'', he underwent a complete revision to his design. He wore a black leather suit with purple markings, spiked shoulder guards, a blue body vest, and had a gruffer voice. Perhaps one of his most notable design changes was that he replaced his eyepatch that he wore in ''Star Fox 64'' with a mechanical one.

Please forgive me for the sloppy look (of the preview? tag). I've never used it before... Regarding the article, I tried to modify most of the text in the appearance section, but I didn't change all of the wording. (Wolf O'Donnell 22:09, 12 March 2011 (PST))

I forgot to mention that I used a "grammar checker" and it appears that there are some embarrassing errors... I still have the modified text. (Wolf O'Donnell 22:32, 12 March 2011 (PST))
Those changes look a little better, but I believe that entire section should be rewritten. I'll try to do it but I only have Assault so it wouldn't be great. Metroid King 11:08, 13 March 2011 (PDT)
I agree. It does look better. And you don't worry about not being able to do it all; it's why we are on a wiki, so many people can contribute in different ways, always attempting to make it better than it was. If one person can't do something in one area, then it can be taken care of by someone else at a later point.
And you did fine with the tags.
[Tacopill|(talk)] 12:56, 13 March 2011 (PDT).
I'm saving the changes here before I place them on the article. Any suggestions on what else to place? Metroid King 13:18, 14 March 2011 (PDT)
The only things I'd suggest are to remove both the mention of Leon as it's not that important and the idea that Wolf's design underwent a revision in Assault. We never saw his body so mention something closer to Wolf's full body was seen for the first time in Assault. I'd also suggest you throw in the comparison of Wario and Wolf I added. Mainly because Wario is a well known character, so comparing the two gives someone the idea of how Wolf acted in Command.--TW 12:49, 15 March 2011 (PDT)

Where should I put...

...his "biography" text from the official Assault Website? (Wolf O'Donnell 21:10, 27 May 2011 (PDT))

I would Try Wolf O'Donnell#In Game History, just before the spoiler tag. [Tacopill|(talk)] 06:03, 29 May 2011 (PDT).

Criticism

Would it be appropriate to remove the criticism template? I thought the issue was fixed. (Wolf O'Donnell (talk) 23:27, 1 December 2012 (UTC))

Do you know which issue was it marked on? [Tacopill|(talk)] 01:23, 4 December 2012 (UTC)
If I recall correctly, it was because of the Appearance and Personality section. At the time, it contained a lot of text from Arwingpedia. I'll have to double check before removing the template, but I do have a rewrite of the section in the works which I can put up for review... (Wolf O'Donnell (talk) 07:06, 4 December 2012 (UTC))
If you wish to do a redo, that would be cool. [Tacopill|(talk)] 01:18, 6 December 2012 (UTC)

Manual quote

If I may inquire, does the quote from the Assault manual look alright? The only reason I am asking is because I have the other character 'profiles' written in Word, and I want to make sure before adding them to their respective articles. (Wolf O'Donnell (talk) 09:26, 5 January 2013 (UTC))
