Smart Bombs (also known as Nova Bombs and B-bombs) are devastating weapons which can take out multiple enemies. They can be aimed at targets either manually or they can be made to home into targets.

Star Fox series

In Star Fox 64, the player begins with three Smart Bombs. They can be fired manually or homed onto targets, and can be obtained by defeating enemies, breaking certain obstacles, or through Supply Containers.

Item usage in Star Fox Adventures remains unchanged from its predecessor.

Star Fox Assault introduced a variant of the Smart Bomb, called the Cluster Bomb. It barrages the field with Grenades upon detonation and can also be locked on to targets.

In the Super Smash Bros. series

Template:Seealso In Super Smash Bros. Brawl, and Super Smash Bros. 4, the Smart Bomb is a powerful weapon with high knockback, though it may not always detonate instantly after being used. In these cases, the player should be careful to stay clear of the area it was thrown, to avoid being damaged or knocked out. This item is particularly effective in enclosed spaces, as it has a large blast radius.
