Lylat Wiki:Starting an article

So, say you're surfing the wiki, and along comes a link to a page that doesn't exist. It could be because you were on a character page, and it's linking to their favorite item. It could be you are searching for a stage page, and it does exist yet. Either way, you think the wiki would be better off with it than without it.

But should you create it?

The simple answer: yes. We prefer to have contributions that break a rule or two, than no contributions at all.

However, in doing so you may cause some additional work for the Administration, as there maybe a reason that page doesn't exist. If you wish to prevent this work, please follow the upcoming guidelines as to #When not to create an article. If doesn't fall in any of these cases, feel free to started it without any consent.

To create the article, click on a red link, or enter the title into your address bar (at the end of the URL, like starfox/wiki/<insert title here> or starfox/w/index.php?title=<insert title here>. Follow Help:Getting Started on how to put something in the article, and then hit save.

When not to create an article

1. The page was deleted

If the page has existed, but no longer does, check the deletion log to see if there is a reason for that to be. If you feel this is an error, please also check for any archives on discussion(s) that may have been had for your subject or topic.

If none exist, then feel free create it. If some do exist, post to the appropriate discussion page at Template:LW:Corneria to see if people wouldn't mind you restoring it or making a new one with the same title.
