Cornerian Fighter
The Cornerian Fighter was the backbone fighter aircraft in the Cornerian Army during the Lylat Wars, often deployed by carrier or surface base. They are often seen on most Cornerian bases and fleets, such as Katina. It was multi-purpose fighter designed for many different types of missions, and is customizable based on the users strengths/weaknesses. During the Lylat Wars weak versions of these fighters were mass produced at an astonishing rate to combat the massive numbers of the Venomian Army. It was the easiest to pilot for untrained cadets, and thus the most used fighter at the time. Usually it was used as long range interceptor, but was also used often as an attack craft and a fleet escort. With its modest shielding, armor, and performance, it could can stand toe-toe against nearly all threats before the invasion by Andross. It's default armament included dual medium laser cannons and a multi-ordnance warhead launcher. The warhead launcher could be fit to fire multiple types of ammunition, such as missiles, torpedoes,and sometimes Nova Bombs, depending on squadron and missions profile and the preferences of the pilot. Missiles were usually the standard. Standard magazine load 4-6.
The generic Cornerian fighter got a slightly different look 11 years later in Command with its wings tilted upward instead of down. Bill Grey mainly pilots the fighter in the game, but depending on certain paths you take, Krystal also flies one. However her fighter is colored different being a shade of purple and green.
