Titania is a planet in the Lylat System which is covered with arid deserts and harsh environments.

Geography and wildlife

Titania is noted for its harsh deserts. Its uncompromising, blasted environment is continually visited by sandstorms, and the only indigenous life is the monstrous Goras, one of which serve as the level's boss in Star Fox 64. The landscape is dotted with the skeletal remains of creatures so massive that a Landmaster can easily pass through their ribcages.

Inspiration

Titania appears to be based on Mars, whose similarly red, lifeless surface has captured the imagination of humans for millennia. It has been theorized that Mars was once very much like Earth, a theory that is supported by the presence of canyons and ancient seabeds that lie scattered across the surface of the planet. This sentiment carries over to Titania. While the following is very much speculative, it is easily imagined that Titania was once a fertile planet that fell victim to some unknown cataclysm and was rendered lifeless, except for the great Goras.

Titania has appeared in all Star Fox games to date.

Star Fox

In Star Fox, the Star Fox team can visit Titania on one of the three available routes through the Lylat System.

Star Fox 64

In Star Fox 64, Slippy is knocked to the surface of the planet by an enemy, prompting the rest of the team to take to the planet's surface to look for him.
